The Vanguard is located at 178 7th Avenue South. That's on 7th Avenue just below West 11th Street in Greenwich Village. Nearest subway: 1, 2 or 3 (local or express) at the 14th Street stop.

Doors open at 8:00pm. Sets begin at 9:00pm and 11:00pm nightly. From time to time, there is an additional 12:30am set on Saturday. It's best to call the club for confirmation of a third set.

Reservations are taken over the phone. Call the club at (212) 255-4037 and leave your name, the number of people in your party, the night you would like to come and which set you would like to attend. Reservations are held until 15 MINUTES before show time. No complaining if you're late. If you need to speak to us in person, call after 3:00pm Eastern time.

Monday through Thursday: $30.00 at the door (includes $20.00 admission plus a $10.00 drink minimum). Friday, Saturday and Sunday: $35.00 at the door (includes $25.00 admission plus a $10.00 drink minimum). Admission may increase slightly depending upon the artist. There is no price reduction for minors. Drinks range in price from $4.50 to $10.00. We accept cash or traveler's checks with a valid passport (a copy is okay) or US driver's license only. Credit cards are accepted for online ticket or merchandise purchases only, but NOT at the club itself.

A STUDENT DISCOUNT is in effect Sunday through Thursday, 2nd set only. The cost is $20.00 which includes admission and a soft drink (or a $4.00 drink credit). This price may increase slightly if the general admission for the particular gig has increased. Valid student I.D. required. In all cases, the discount is subject to availability. It's wise to call the club to be sure.

PLEASE NOTE: The gratuity or tip for the wait person is NOT included in the door price. It is customary to leave a tip for the wait person. On average, $1.00 or $2.00 per drink is expected.

We do not serve food. We haven't served food here in 25 years. So if someone offers you a hamburger, check the expiration date.

Though all ages are welcome, including quiet children, there is no price reduction for minors.

In accordance with New York State law, there is no smoking allowed in the club.

During performances, QUIET IS ENFORCED. We're a jazz club, not a chat room.

NO PHOTOGRAPHY is permitted during performances.
NO VIDEOTAPING is permitted during performances.
NO AUDIO RECORDING is permitted. Period.
And please, NO CELL PHONES.
